You actually do not pay a single cent, but you have to provide payment data like paypal or credit card details. This is a clever ploy by the game's makers. You are given the chance to score 30 emeralds for free.Else you run into the danger of having to do some things twice and waste time and precious energy. Especially during the energy build-up phase, up to level 8, do not initiate any tasks without being prompted to do so by a quest.
